Litter Picking

Litter Picking

Litter picking around the village took place on 10th March. Here is a note from Richard Kew, Chairman of the Community Association:

Litter pickers, we thank you, great job. Over 70 black bags of rubbish collected from the outer environs of Shearsby this morning by the biggest turnout of villagers, so much so that we ran out of kit and bin bags.

Litter Pick

The Shearsby Community Association is having a litter pick on Sunday 10th March and welcomes volunteers to assist.

Meet at 10am at Keith and Anne Beeson's on Back Lane. Bring gardening gloves. We will have fluorescent tabards and litter picking equipment provided by Harborough District Council.

No unaccompanied children under 16 outside the 30mile an hour signs as we will be going out on the A5199 verges... Read More »

Another successful 'Live on the Green' event done and dusted. But boy, did it rain. The longest dry spell since '76 came to an abrupt end as the first note was played. Ah well, that wasn't going to stop the fun, Gene Kelly eat your heart out, we gave it our best. £1500 raised for community funds plus £500 from the sale of gazebo slots which will go to Loros.

Each year Shearsby holds it's open air evening concert, which runs from 6pm until midnight and sees 4 live bands rock the night away.

A family friendly event - open to all. Tickets £12.50 in advance or £15 on the gate.

Litter Pick, 2018 March

A recent litter pick saw over 60 bin liners filled plus various tyres, cannabis growing equipment, council kit, (including 4 traffic cones), and various bits of cars and vans.
