The Rural Bulletin 16 November

Rural Lens Review of Heat and Buildings Strategy
Published on 19th October, the Governments Heat and Buildings Strategy sets out its plan to significantly cut carbon emissions from the UK's 30 million homes and workplaces in a simple, low-cost and green way whilst ensuring this remains affordable and fair for households across the country. Like the transition to electric vehicles, this will be a gradual transition which will start by incentivizing consumers and driving down costs.
The RSN has examined the strategy through a Rural Lens, this is a series of work published by the RSN, where we have reviewed Government strategies and plans from a rural perspective, highlighting your attention to key parts that may affect your rural communities and service delivery.

Within the Local Authority Finance section of the RSN website an updated analysis of the outturn data of local authority revenue expenditure and financing has now been released with provisional data for the financial year April 2020 to March 2021. The analysis provides the expenditure per head for each service area, the corresponding percentage of total service expenditure, and in both cases an average for authorities of same class and classification.
