Live on the Green

Early August in Shearsby means one thing - Live on the Green, our mini music fest on the green in the heart of our village. Well, this year it was a triumphant celebration of live music, starting with a Brass Quintet LE8 Five who opened with a sound and repertoire that is quintessentially English, followed by Shearsby's very own Reformers who rocked us with covers of hits from The Killers to Amy Winehouse. Finding Georgia then brought us a combination of country and rock sounds, and last but not least the original lineup of The Platforms got everyone up and dancing to Glam Rock numbers including Queen, ABBA and T-Rex.
It was our 25th anniversary and it was up there with the very best, a warm and (mostly!) dry evening, 500 people letting what's left of their hair down and over £4000 raised for community funds plus over £500 for Loros and Leicester Children's Hospital Appeal. Thanks to all who performed, helped, organised and attended...and roll on 2020...

Live on the Green is to take place on Saturday 3rd August 2019 and will feature favourite groups The Platforms, Finding Georgia and The Reformers.

Shearsby Seniors Lunch

Shearsby Seniors Lunch on Sunday 14th April at 12.30pm in the village hall.

Litter Pick

Litterpickers, we thank you, great job. Over 70 black bags of rubbish collected from the outer environs of Shearsby this morning by the biggest turnout of villagers, so much so that we ran out of kit and bin bags.

The Shearsby Community Association is having a litter pick on Sunday 10th March and welcomes volunteers to assist.

Meet at 10am at Keith and Anne Beeson's on Back Lane. Bring gardening gloves. We will have fluorescent tabards and litter picking equipment provided by Harborough District Council.

No unaccompanied children under 16 outside the 30mile an hour signs as we will be going out on the A5199 verges as well as the Saddington road and the Bath Lane.
